Press Release Body: Miami, FL, August 21, 2008 - For students between Kindergarten
and the 12th grades, The Hollywood Education & Literacy Project, known as H.E.L.P.
Miami, offers an alternative to the traditional school setting. While this service
exists mainly for the child who is doing poorly in school, many families opt for
this service as their child gets more attention than in a typical classroom, a
different diagnostic approach to learning difficulties, and they are able to
progress at their own speed.

Beverly Eakman, best-selling author, keynote speaker and columnist became aware of
Mrs. Rivera in 2000, during a Florida court case. Rivera was called as an expert
witness for the defense regarding then 10-year-old Daniel Salazar in Salazar vs. the
Dade County School System.

In her book Walking Targets: How Our Psychologized Classrooms Are Producing a Nation
of Sitting Ducks, Eakman describes Rivera as \"a petite blond dynamo who has never
met an 'uneducable' child.'\" In her testimony Rivera \"pointed out that the school
should have paid attention to its own case-study evaluation to capitalize on
Daniel's many strengths\" instead of sticking dehumanizing labels on him.

\"Bev contacted me through a mutual friend when she found out that my goal is to
raise $120,000 to secure and renovate an additional space for our K-3rd grade
students.\" said Rivera.

She further explained, \"Bev and her publisher Jon Batson, owner of Midnight Whistler
Publishers, are donating a very generous 40% of the selling price of Walking Targets
that are sold through my recommendation. This will assist us in our fund raising
project for expansion, renovations, construction, materials, etc.\"

For more information and to participate in the project contact Barbara Rivera at
H.E.L.P, Miami.
